Clean air zone
Bristol City Centre’s Clean Air Zone covers the city Centre, part of the Portway and Bridge Valley Road. Some vehicles (not all) will be subject to a charge of £9 per day to access these areas. See which roads are affected and check whether you will need to pay a charge for your vehicle.
BCMB is not in the zone, and you are able to park nearby. However as we are so near the city centre, some journeys – especially those coming from the south of the city – will pass through the zone and you may have to pay.
There are 5 parking permits that can be collected from the college. Parking around the college area is metered (cash or app) and limited to 5 hours, which means you would need to move your car during lunch.
Paying for parking
Install and setup the RINGGO parking app before you arrive so you don’t have to do it on your first time paying or bring money instead. £1 per hour for a maximum stay 5 hours.
Parking is free on the weekend
Another option: Clifton Down Shopping Centre, 21 Whiteladies Rd, Clifton, Bristol BS8 2NN, for £12. 5 – 10min walk from BCMB and this means you don’t have to move your card during the day.
You can also park around Clifton Down for free, for 4 or 5 hours, taking into account that it will be a longer walk to move your car at lunchtime.
Traffic on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please remember traffic can be heaving on weekdays so please leave ample time to park.
Please see the BCMB website for details: bristolmassage.co.uk/bcmb-bristol/
Travel from London
London to Temple Meads, then Temple Meads to Clifton Down.
Temple Meads to Clifton Down and doesn’t take very long. It costs £1.50 for a single.
When you get to Clifton Down station, BCMB is only about a 5 min brisk walk from there.
Alternatively, you could get a number 8 bus from Temple Meads which stops outside our building, but it takes longer than the train.
Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
We will not be sharing food, so please bring your own.
For lunch, there are locations near by, however it’s best to bring this with you in the morning, rather than poping out at lunch time to get it. You need to get to the shops and back AND eat within 50 – 60 mins and eat it. If you need to get some air at lunch time, that could rather be for a leisurely stroll. There is an outside bench/table and grass to relax on.
